- The Promised Land
  
  A course from the St. Patrick Catechetical Institute — St. Patrick Parish's faith formation program built on four pillars: Sacraments, Practicum, Catechesis, and Initiation. Over seven sessions, we walk the full arc of salvation history, from the garden of Eden to the Ascension of Christ. From the first man to the last commission, each session follows the figures of Scripture who point us toward the God who never stops pursuing his people.

  FOCUS: the story of creation, Adam and Eve, and the Fall. - Creation - Adam and Eve - The Fall
  
  In the beginning, God created. This session opens the story of salvation history at its source — the creation of the world, the dignity of Adam and Eve, and the devastating reality of the Fall. We explore what was lost, why it matters, and how this first chapter sets the stage for everything God does next.

  Session Two
  
  FOCUS: God’s covenant with Abraham, the father of our faith. - Abraham - Isaac, Jacob, Joseph
  
  God made a promise to one man — and through him, changed everything. This session follows Abraham, the father of our faith, and the covenant God established with him that would shape the entire story of salvation. We trace that promise through the lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, watching how God's faithfulness carries forward through every generation, even when the path is anything but straight.

  FOCUS: Moses, the Exodus, and the early days entering into the promised land. - Moses - Exodus - Judges
  
  A burning bush. A parted sea. A people set free. This session follows Moses through one of the most dramatic chapters in salvation history — the Exodus from Egypt and the long journey toward the promised land. We explore the role of the Judges and what it means to follow a God who makes a way where there is no way.

  Session Four
  
  FOCUS: King David and summarizes the stories of kings, exile, and essentially the end of the Old Testament. - David - Kings - Exile - Maccabees
  
  A shepherd boy becomes the greatest king in Israel’s history — and even he falls short. This session follows the arc of kingship in the Old Testament, from David’s triumphs and failures through the divided kingdom, the exile, and the perseverance of the Maccabees. It is a story of a people who kept losing their way and a God who never stopped calling them home.

  FOCUS: The earlier part of Jesus’ life and ministry, including the few child narratives, and the significance of Jesus’ name, origin, “Emmanuel,” etc. - Jesus - Infancy Narratives - Presentation in the Temple - Losing and finding in the Temple
  The long wait is over. This session turns from the Old Testament to the one it was always pointing toward — Jesus. We explore the Infancy Narratives, the Presentation in the Temple, and the moment a twelve-year-old boy is found teaching in the Temple. We examine the meaning of his name, his origin, and what it means that he is Emmanuel — God with us.

  FOCUS: The later part of Jesus’ life and ministry, especially the stories of healings and miracles, ultimately leading to the Paschal Mystery - Jesus - Healings - Passion, Death, Resurrection
