Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place most Sundays of the school year during the 9:00 AM Mass. After the Introductory Rites, children are invited forward for a blessing and then join trained leaders in the social hall. There, they hear the readings, sing, and reflect on the Gospel through age-appropriate activities before returning to the church after the Prayers of the Faithful.
This ministry gives children a chance to encounter God’s Word in a way they can understand, while parents and volunteers continue to fully participate in the Mass.
Practical Next Step: Parents are encouraged to attend Mass with their children and reinforce the lessons at home.
We are building a team of faithful adults to lead and support this ministry. Roles range from leading children in prayer and reflection to helping with materials, scheduling, and communication.
